According to Wikipedia, "The No Kings protests were a series of demonstrations taking place [on Ocotober 18, 2025] largely in the United States against [what are being perceived as] Donald Trump's policies and actions during his second presidency," specifically those in which state and national law enforcement and military have been called out to actively halt illtgal immigration in any form.
"Activities [were held at the] National Mall in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Illinois, and New York City....[and, according to some witnessing the event], "The protests turnout numbers far exceeded expectations reaching an estimated 2,700 rallies across the nation."
Wikipedia also notes that the events were funded by such (pardon the pun) diverse groups as the 50501 Movement, the ACLU, the Indivisible Movement, the Third Act Movementm, the American Federation of Teachers, Social Security Works,
the Communications Workers of America, Public Citizen, MoveOn, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the Human Rights Campaign, the New York Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the American Federation of Government Employees,
the League of Women Voters, and internationally by Democrats Abroad.
Various conservative government figures, such as Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, House majority whip Tom Emmer, and House majority leader Steve Scalise accused event organizers and participants
as being composed of Antifa, "Anti-American," and even being Marxists in advance of protests. Additionally, accusations have been made that participants were paid, possibly in-part by left-leaning international philanthropist, George Soros. While the series of protests ostensibly represent American values against alleged repeated overreach by President Trump, others question if the event is actually a PR stunt attempting to embarrass the Trump Administration and
register what is seen by some as policy 'overreach,' specifically regarding the White House's firm stance on illegal immigration, regardless of the timeframe of such alleged events.
At the time this article was written, President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI have not released comments acknowledging the event. Comments from the Trump Administration are expected to be forthcoming. Also at this time, no arrests have been reported; however,
according to the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Police "declared...'unlawful assembly' and began to press a line of protesters outside the [Metropolitan Detention Center] facility. Police shot multiple nonlethal rounds, used tear gas and brought in a fleet of horses in an attempt to push back crowds" who remained from the day's event.
We will keep you updated on the analysis of this developing story as it
evolves.
